Step 1 - On-campus Procedure

• NWC students should stop into the Career Development Center and talk with Nancy Landhuis or Bill Minnick. At this time the student will need to sign a transcript release form and obtain a student development reference form which is required by NWC when applying for off-campus study.


• The Chicago Semester application is due in the Career Development Center by 5 p.m. on February 10 for the following fall and spring semester.


• All NWC students must have a third reference from a professional staff member in student development, athletics, or campus ministries.


• Applications are reviewed by the Off-Campus Study Review Committee. The committee consists of:
• Associate Vice President of Academics
• Vice President of Student Development
• Faculty chairperson from Academic Policies Committee
• Director of Career Development
• Once all applications have been distributed and reviewed, the committee meets and ranks all the off-campus study applications. This process typically takes 2 weeks.
