Step 1 - On-campus Procedure

• Hope College asks all students to begin their process the spring prior to attending an off-campus program by filling out an Off-Campus Study application, available in Sander de Haan's office in the Department of Modern & Classical Languages. The Registrar's Office and Career Services are secondary sources but all applications must be returned to Sander de Haan.


• Fall applicants should have their Off-Campus application AND the full Chicago Semester application returned to Sander de Haan by February 1 the year prior. Spring applications are due April 14 the year prior. Applications are reviewed by the Off-Campus Study Committee whose review process takes from 10 days to 3 weeks and are then sent to the Chicago Semester office.
